Can’t fault this laptop it’s fantastic for the money. The 1920×1080 screen is excellent and the performance of the Nvidia graphics is surprisingly good, I am able to play GTA 5 with reasonable settings. The laptop is also light, thin and doesn’t get hot. Highly recommended.

    The Good:
    * this particular model the X555LJ-DM342H comes with a FULL HD screen so you get matte 1920×1080 goodness
    * sound is quite impressive of a laptop, can listen in a busy place and still hear fine….and not tinny
    * easy to remove the bottom panel, even if they say its not user serviceable it is, just undo the 10 screws around the edge and use a guitar pick and run around the edge (if you wanted to upgrade to a SSD for example)
    * very light for its size and not flimsy & also very thin

    The Bad:
    * don’t like the trackpad so far but that might just me being to used to my old laptops one
    * the webcam is vga so only outputs 640×480 pixels
    * 4gb on the ram is soldered right to the board, and the other slot is occupied by another 4gb stick so you can only upgrade to 12gb

personally i plan on replacing the harddrive with a SSD the DVD drive with a ODD bay that i can put the old drive into……and then getting a usb encosure for the removed dvd drive
